Buses for away games, practices and tournaments

A sports team bus that shows up on time, waits at the field and brings the team home after the night game. NW Transport runs athletic transportation for North Jersey schools and clubs on our own buses with our own drivers: a single away game, a weekly practice run or the whole season. Request online and a written quote comes back within one business day.

Based in Little Falls, NJ. Games and tournaments across New Jersey, into New York and Pennsylvania.

Built around a game schedule

Athletics is not a field trip. The times move, the returns run late, and the gear comes along. We run it that way.

One game or the whole season

Book a single away game, a weekly practice run, or every game on the schedule. Season bookings get one driver who learns the team and a per-run price on the quote.

Night games and late returns

Friday lights, playoff doubleheaders, a bus that leaves the field at 10 p.m. Dispatch stays on the phone until the team is back in the school lot.

The bus waits at the field

For most games the driver stays on site through the final whistle, so overtime, a delayed start or a quick turnaround is handled on the spot.

Gear rides with the team

A school bus has no underfloor luggage bay. Equipment bags, ball carts and team coolers ride in the back rows, and we size the bus so there is room for them.

Two teams, two buses

Varsity and JV on the same day, boys and girls to different fields, a band bus alongside the football bus: tell us the head counts and we assign the buses together.

Playoffs on short notice

County and state tournament brackets come out days before the game. Call dispatch with the date and the site and we fill it whenever a bus is free.

The right bus for the roster

Count players, coaches, trainers and managers, then add room for the gear. Not sure? Give us the roster size and we recommend one.

How booking works

Send the schedule

One game or the season: dates, departure times, the fields and the roster size. Five questions online, or call dispatch.

Get the written quote

Within one business day, by email, with the bus, every pickup and return time, and the terms. Season quotes show the per-run price.

Accept and play

Accept online. The driver and bus are assigned, the trip sheet goes to the driver, and the office confirms with the athletic office the week of the game.

Fall and spring seasons book out first. Send the schedule as soon as the league releases it.

Regular season, county and state tournaments

Most of our athletic runs are weekday afternoons: a 2:30 p.m. pickup at the school, a game across the county, back by dinner. The rest of the calendar is where a reliable bus matters most.

  • Regular season: weekly away games for school teams across Passaic, Bergen, Essex and Morris counties, with the same driver and bus each week where possible.
  • County and state tournaments: brackets that set the site a few days out, neutral fields, and second games on the same day. We hold the bus through the day when the bracket calls for it.
  • Invitationals and meets: all-day track, swimming and wrestling meets where the bus waits on site or returns for a set pickup.
  • Club and travel teams: weekend tournaments in New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania for club programs, with parents and coaches riding along.
  • Band, cheer and fans: marching band to the football game, cheer to the playoff, a fan bus to the state final.

Tolls and parking are itemized on the quote at cost. Late-night returns and same-day requests are priced on the quote too, so the athletic office knows the number before the bus rolls.

Athletic transportation questions

Can we book a bus for the whole season at once?

Yes. Send the full schedule and we quote the season with a per-run price and one driver assigned where possible. Dates that change during the season are updated on the same booking by a call or an email to dispatch.

What happens when a night game runs late?

The driver stays until the team is ready to leave. Overtime, a delayed start or a rain delay changes the return time, not whether the bus is there. Dispatch is on the phone with the coach the whole evening.

Does the bus wait at the field?

Usually, yes. For most games the driver waits on site through the final whistle. For a long tournament day, we can quote a drop-off and a return pickup instead. Choose either on the request form.

Where does the equipment go?

On the bus, in the back rows. A school bus has no underfloor luggage bay, so equipment bags, ball carts and coolers ride inside. Tell us the roster size and the gear and we size the bus with room to spare.

Do you take club teams and travel teams?

Yes. Club programs, travel teams, leagues and booster clubs book the same buses and drivers as our schools do. Schools and districts can book on a purchase order; other organizations pay before the trip date.

What if the game is rained out?

Cancel free of charge until 48 hours before pickup. Inside 48 hours, half the trip price applies; once the bus has arrived, the full price. Weather postponements are handled case by case with the athletic office, and a rescheduled date is usually moved onto the same booking.

Send the schedule. We'll put a bus on every date.

A quote within one business day, a named driver and bus, and a dispatcher who answers the phone at 10 p.m.
