Weddings and group outings · North Jersey

A yellow school bus for your wedding, reunion or group outing

Guests ride together, nobody hunts for parking at the venue, and the photos are better than any limo's. NW Transport rents school buses for weddings, church retreats, scout trips, family reunions, company picnics and game-day outings across North Jersey, on our own buses with our own drivers. Request online and a written quote comes back within one business day.

Based in Little Falls, NJ. Riders of any age; drivers hold passenger endorsements.

Why couples pick the yellow bus

A school bus wedding shuttle is practical first and charming second, and the charm is real.

Everyone arrives together

One pickup at the hotel, one arrival at the ceremony. Nobody gets lost on Route 46, nobody circles the venue looking for a spot, and the ceremony starts on time.

The hotel-to-ceremony-to-reception loop

Guests to the ceremony, the wedding party to the photos, everyone to the reception, and a return loop at the end of the night. One bus, one driver, one plan.

Timed around the ceremony

We build the schedule backwards from the processional: when the bus leaves the hotel, how long the loop takes, when it is back for the second wave.

Photos people keep

The wedding party on the bus steps, the whole guest list waving from the windows. The yellow bus ends up in more albums than the venue does.

Late-night returns

The bus waits through the reception and runs guests back to the hotel at the end, in one trip or two. Tell us the last-dance time and we plan the return loop around it.

Room for everyone

A 54-passenger bus carries 44 to 48 adults comfortably. For a bigger guest list we run two buses on the same loop, leaving and arriving together.

Group outings we run all year

Weddings are the most photographed trips we run, but most of our group outings are simpler: a bus, a driver and a place the whole group wants to be.

  • Churches and congregations: retreats, youth group trips, outreach days, holiday services at a sister congregation, and senior outings.
  • Scout troops and youth organizations: weekend camping trips, jamborees, museum days and service projects, with gear riding in the back rows.
  • Family reunions and milestone birthdays: a bus that collects everyone from the hotel and brings them to the park, the restaurant or the house, and home again.
  • Company picnics and team outings: employees from the office to the park, the ballgame or the volunteer site, with no parking to organize.
  • Game days and shows: Yankees and Devils games, a Broadway matinee, a college football Saturday, with the driver waiting through the event.

Our drivers hold the P endorsement New Jersey requires to carry passengers of any age, and every bus carries seat belts and the emergency equipment the state requires. Other organizations pay before the trip date; schools and districts can book on a purchase order.

The right bus for the guest list

Count adults, not seats. A school bus seats three children to a bench and two adults; we size the bus for adults.

How booking works

Tell us the day

The date, the addresses (hotel, ceremony, reception), the times that matter and the head count. Five questions online, or call.

Get the written quote

Within one business day, by email, with the bus, the loop schedule, the hours covered and the terms. Forward it to the planner or the venue.

Accept and relax

Accept online and pay before the date. The driver and bus are assigned, the loop sheet goes to the driver, and the office confirms the timing with you the week of the event.

September and October weekends, and May and June weekends, book out first. Reserve the bus as soon as the venue is set.

Wedding and group bus questions

Can adults ride a school bus?

Yes. Our drivers hold the passenger endorsement New Jersey requires to carry riders of any age, and the buses are inspected for passenger service twice a year. Wedding guests, employees, congregations and families ride the same buses our schools do.

How many adults fit on a school bus?

A 54-passenger bus is rated for children at three to a bench. For adults, count 44 to 48 per bus for comfort, fewer if guests are in formal wear. For a larger list we run two buses on the same loop.

Can we decorate the bus?

Yes. Exterior magnets, ribbon and flowers inside, a sign in the back window are all fine. Nothing may be taped to the windows, the doors or the emergency exits, and the driver removes anything that blocks a mirror or an exit before the bus moves.

Can the bus wait and bring guests back late at night?

Yes. The driver waits through the reception and runs the return loop to the hotel at the end of the night, in one trip or two. Tell us the last-dance time and the quote covers the hours and the late return.

How early should we book?

As soon as the date and the venue are set. September and October weekends, and May and June weekends, book out first because they overlap with school field trip season. Weekday events can usually be booked a few weeks out.

What are the cancellation terms?

Cancel free of charge until 48 hours before pickup. Inside 48 hours, half the trip price applies; once the bus has arrived, the full price. A change of date is moved onto the same booking when a bus is free.
