Summer camp transportation · North Jersey

Camp transportation for North Jersey day camps

Daily AM and PM camp routes from the neighborhoods to camp, and camp trips to pools, parks and museums, June to August. NW Transport runs summer camp bus transportation on our own buses with our own drivers, the same ones who carry 200+ students every school day. Book by May for a June start; a written quote comes back within one business day.

Based in Little Falls, NJ. Camps across Passaic, Bergen, Essex, Morris and Sussex counties.

What camp transportation with NW Transport looks like

Campers arrive together, counselors ride along, and the camp office has one number to call.

Daily AM and PM camp routes

Neighborhood stops in the morning, the reverse run in the afternoon, the same bus and driver every day of the session. Routes are built from your stop list and your camp hours.

Camp field trips

Pools, water parks, county parks, museums, bowling, the beach. The driver stays with the group when you need one, and the bus is sized to the trip, not the whole camp.

Counselors as chaperones

Your counselors ride the bus, check campers on and off against the rider list and hand off to parents at the stop. Our driver drives; your staff supervise.

Car seats and vests for the youngest

Pre-K and kindergarten campers ride in car seats or safety vests on request. Tell us the age groups on the booking and the bus is set up before the first run.

The same drivers all summer

Where the schedule allows, one driver keeps the route for the whole session. Campers know the face at the door; parents know the bus.

Dispatch for weather days

A thunderstorm closes the pool, a heat day moves pickup earlier. Call dispatch and the run changes that day, by a person on the phone.

The right bus for the session

Camp ridership changes week to week. Give us the enrollment by session and we size each route.

How camp booking works

Send the stop list

Session dates, camp hours, the pickup stops or neighborhoods, enrollment by session and the ages. Online, or by email with last year's route attached.

Get the written quote

Within one business day, by email, with the bus for each route, every stop and time, the per-day price and the terms.

Accept and start in June

Accept online. Drivers and buses are assigned, the route sheets go to the drivers, and dispatch confirms the first-day plan with the camp office.

Book by May. Camp routes are built from the school-year schedule, and the calendar fills as districts release their summer plans.

What the camp provides, and what we handle

A camp route runs well when both sides know their part before the first morning.

From the camp

  • A rider list per route and per session, with a parent contact for each camper.
  • Stop addresses or corner locations, and the camp's own pickup and drop-off point.
  • Camp hours, early-dismissal days and the trip calendar for the summer.
  • A counselor or staff member on each bus, and a named contact at the camp office.

From NW Transport

  • Route engineering: the stop sequence, the timing and the bus size for each run.
  • A named driver and an inspected bus per route, with the route sheet on the driver's phone.
  • Dispatch on the phone every day the camp runs, for changes, weather and late parents.
  • Certificate of insurance and driver records for the camp's files, on request.

Schools and districts can book on a purchase order; other organizations pay before the trip date. Camps running multi-week sessions set a payment schedule on the quote.

Camp transportation questions

When should a camp book its summer routes?

By May for a late-June start. Camp routes are built once school-year schedules are known, and drivers are assigned in the order camps book. A camp that books in March gets first choice of drivers and times.

Can the same driver run the route all summer?

Where the schedule allows, yes. We assign one driver per route for the session so campers and parents see the same face every day. When the regular driver is out, a substitute is briefed from the same route sheet.

Do you provide car seats for the youngest campers?

Yes. Car seats and safety vests are available for Pre-K and kindergarten campers on request. Tell us the age groups when you book and the bus is set up before the first run.

Can enrollment change between sessions?

Yes. Send the updated rider list before each session starts and we resize the bus or adjust the stops. Changes within a session are handled by a call to dispatch.

Do you run camp field trips as well as daily routes?

Yes. Pools, parks, museums, the shore and New York City are all regular camp trips. Book them with the daily routes or add them during the summer; each trip is quoted in writing.

What are the cancellation terms?

For trips, cancel free of charge until 48 hours before pickup; inside 48 hours, half the trip price applies, and once the bus has arrived, the full price. Daily camp routes set their notice period on the quote, and weather days are handled case by case.
