School bus rental in Jersey City, NJ
Jersey City is the biggest school city we serve, and the one we know best: we have served the Jersey City Public Schools for a decade and keep a satellite location in the city, so our drivers work its streets every school day. District, charter and parochial schools, three colleges, community organizations and the waterfront employers book our buses for field trips, athletic trips, late buses, daily routes and group shuttles, and a written quote comes back within one business day.
Based in Little Falls, about 35 minutes from Jersey City. Our own fleet, our own drivers.
Schools and groups in Jersey City
Jersey City Public Schools runs Dickinson, Lincoln, Ferris and Snyder high schools, McNair Academic and the district's academies, and dozens of elementary and middle schools in every ward. Alongside the district sit the city's charter schools, from Learning Community and Golden Door to the newer networks, the parochial schools, Hudson Catholic, St. Dominic Academy and St. Peter's Prep, and the campuses of Saint Peter's University, New Jersey City University and Hudson County Community College. After-school programs, community organizations and the waterfront employers all book buses the same way.
We have served the Jersey City Public Schools for a decade, and that experience is on every trip: our drivers know which school streets are one-way at dismissal, where a 54-passenger bus can and cannot turn, which lots take a bus and which do not, and how long the Turnpike and the tunnel really take at each hour. Our satellite location in the city means a Jersey City bus is a short run from its yard rather than a long one from ours, which is what makes early pickups, late returns and same-day coverage practical here.
What Jersey City books
One request form, one dispatch office, one written quote. These are the trips we run for Jersey City week in, week out.
Field trips
Liberty Science Center and Liberty State Park, with the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island ferries, are inside the city, both with bus parking and no tunnel. Downtown Manhattan is minutes away through the Holland Tunnel: the 9/11 Memorial and Museum, the Battery and the Brooklyn Bridge (20 to 40 minutes), then midtown museums and Broadway matinees (35 to 60). The Newark Museum of Art and NJPAC (20) and Turtle Back Zoo (35) are the Jersey-side half-days.
Athletics
Hudson County Interscholastic Athletic League games across the county, county and state tournament days, swimming and track meets with early departures, and night games with late returns. Single games or a whole season.
Late buses and charter school routes
Dedicated late buses and activity runs, mid-day runs between buildings, and daily AM and PM routes for charter schools whose students come from across the city. One bus can be split between two campuses on a staggered schedule.
Groups and employers
Church and youth group trips, community organizations, senior center outings, university program trips, and employee and event shuttles for the waterfront offices, including runs between Newport, Exchange Place and Journal Square.
From our Little Falls yard to Jersey City
Route 3 to the Turnpike, or Route 1&9 and Route 139, brings a bus from Little Falls to Journal Square, the Heights and downtown in about 35 minutes outside the peaks; Kennedy Boulevard, Newark Avenue and Garfield Avenue reach Greenville, Bergen-Lafayette and the waterfront from there. Heading out, Liberty State Park and Liberty Science Center are inside the city, the Holland Tunnel is at the door for downtown Manhattan, and the Turnpike runs south to the shore.
On the day
Jersey City's school streets are narrow and dense, with one-ways, bus-only lanes and active parking enforcement, so the driver is given the exact loading point and the contact's cell before the trip and arrives in the loading window rather than early. Afternoon traffic toward the Turnpike and the tunnel builds from 2:00, so returns are timed with dismissal in mind, and for downtown Manhattan the driver uses the Holland Tunnel at the hours it moves.
What a school bus costs from Jersey City
Trips are $124 an hour with a 4-hour minimum. Fuel, the driver, insurance and dispatch are included; tolls, parking and venue bus fees are passed through at cost and itemized on the quote. Most half-day trips from Jersey City fit inside the minimum. Send the date, the group and the two addresses and the written quote, the exact number for your trip, comes back within one business day.
