Union Township sits where the Parkway, Route 22 and I-78 meet, which puts it about 35 minutes from our yard and within easy reach of the whole middle of the state. Its public schools, the parochial schools, Kean University, camps, churches, leagues and the employers along Route 22 book yellow school buses with our own drivers for field trips, away games, summer routes and group shuttles, and a written quote comes back within one business day.

Based in Little Falls, about 35 minutes from Union. Our own fleet, our own drivers.

Schools and groups in Union

Union Public Schools runs Union High School, two middle schools and a set of neighborhood elementary schools for a township of 60,000. Kean University, on Morris Avenue at the Hillside line, runs athletics, programs and camps that use buses, and the township's parochial schools, day cares, after-school programs and recreation camps book the same way. Union's churches, senior programs and youth leagues travel through the year.

What Union books

One request form, one dispatch office, one written quote. These are the trips we run for Union week in, week out.

Field trips

Liberty Science Center is about 30 minutes; the Newark Museum of Art, NJPAC and the Prudential Center 20; Turtle Back Zoo 20; the Watchung Reservation and Trailside Nature Center 15; and Manhattan museums and matinees 50 to 70 minutes through the Holland or Lincoln tunnel. Warinanco Park and the Liberty Hall Museum at Kean are local half-days.

Athletics

Union County Conference games, county and state tournament days, early departures for swim and track meets, and late returns from night games. Kean University teams and the township's leagues book the same way, single games or whole seasons.

Camps and summer routes

Daily routes for township and private camps, trips to county pools and parks, and transportation for Kean's summer programs, with the same driver all summer where the schedule allows.

Groups and employers

Church and scout outings, senior trips, youth sports clubs heading to tournaments, and employee shuttles for the businesses along Route 22 and Morris Avenue. Our drivers carry passenger endorsements, so the group does not have to be a school.

From our Little Falls yard to Union

Route 46 east to the Garden State Parkway south, then the Union exits to Morris Avenue, brings a bus from Little Falls to the township in about 35 minutes outside the peaks; Route 22, Stuyvesant Avenue and Chestnut Street reach the schools from there. For trips, I-78 leads east to Liberty State Park and the Holland Tunnel and west to the Watchung Reservation, Route 22 reaches the rest of the county, and the Parkway south opens the shore.

On the day

Most of Union's schools have bus loops, which makes loading quick, and the township's main roads take a full-size bus without trouble; Route 22's divided lanes and jughandles are the one thing a driver has to know, and ours do. Kean's campus has its own bus areas and event parking rules, which our drivers follow. Afternoon traffic on the Parkway is the variable for returns; we time the departure around it and the driver calls the contact if it is slow.
